Nice subject; bad lighting, bad focus (focus on the eyes), depth of field is too shallow.

Isn't it strage how they look at you and like they can hear you? Or would it rather eat you than the bug? One of my favorites! Maybe a little out of focus, but still a great picture.

Nice composition and lighting (and great title). Needs more DOF, or at least for the focus to be on the mantis' head.

Good use of shadows and composition to create personality to the photo. The mantis could be a little sharper.

Great colors. The lighting is great. Love the shadows and reflections. The darker background really brings the insects alive and make them pop out of the shot. Don't know how you got the mantis to look at the camera.

Nice. The dark bg helps this Praying Mantis stand out. Focus is a wee bit soft, nevertheless a good job!

LOL good title, great job, it is cropped a little tight on the left, but a great image.

Attack! Attack! Great capture. I'd like to see more of the mantis, but the light still makes the green look brilliant. Good luck. Jacko. 8

If this was a bit lighter on the left side I would have given it a 10 just for the "look" on the mantis' face. Great title.

The focus is a bit off or the face is too dark. Not sure which bothers me more.

He he, a lovely picture. I really like the composition of this picture, the darkening upper part of the picture gives it a wonderful flair which is finished off exquisitely by the white border. The location of the insects in the image is also very nice.
Technically I would say that your depth of field is perhaps a tiny bit too shallow, but now I am picking.
You leave me wondering as to where you took this picture as the surface that the insects are on looks very nice and does not detract from the image. I actually took a picture of a butterfly on a grey background that I did not submit because the grey background detracted completely from the butterfly.
This is one of the first pictures that I have looked at, but so far is my favourite -- top draw so far I think you will do very well.

Truly amazing, ths lighting is perfect. Subject is great, love the humor, and the background doesnt take anything away from this one, a given ribbon if you ask me. Congrats - 10

Interesting subject, but head isn't in focus and lighting is a bit too dark.
