This image was taken right before a concert by the famed Mormon Tabernacle Choir in the LDS Conference Center. The tickets say not to bring cameras in the building, but I had mine in my purse (yes, I carry my DSLR in my purse) and security let me through. Unfortunately, some tall guy kept standing up and wouldn't sit down. I felt okay about taking shots without drawing major attention to myself, but standing up while most were seated and telling the oof to sit down had a definite feeling of drawing attention to my photography. So, I took my photos, handheld in low light, from my seat and got the best crop I could without the guy's head in the way, and using my kit lens.
The greatest part of the image was the fantastic lighting they were using on the back wall. It really brought out the gold. And to think I sat waiting for the concert for nearly 15 minutes before I realized I had a fantastic "Gold" subject sitting in front of me.

somewhat crowded-including more of the choir could have added more impact-truly a fine photograph |

Nice shot. Took me a second to realize the size as I was looking at the pipes and didnt even notice the people. They are HUGE! Very nice. |

this has so much promise for being a super dynamic picture, not just a rather excellent shot. a less tall more panoramic crop would enhance the overall mix of lines and colours, i think - by doing away with the people, and anything above the top of the clock, would really maximise the rather gorgeous architecture and design. though, to be fair, the people do give a jolly good sense of scale, so maybe my crop idea is dumb. it's a great picture though - 9. |
