For starters, I didn't put as much effort in this challenge than I probably should have. What I originally wanted to do was to flip my hair over my head to make a cool shape and look like it was being wind-blown, but my background wasn't wide or tall enough to accomidate my insanely long hair (I need it cut). So, I ended up taking a few close-up snapshots, and this was one of the 'OK' shots. What I do like about it is the fact that you can't see any sweat on my face.
This was taken on the hottest day of the year (113), and even though I waited until 9 at night to take it, it was still 92 degrees in my room and I was drenched. To hide the sticky look on my skin, I put on a bunch of foundation and powder on my face and chapstick to make my lips distract from my skin's damp appearance. I took the shot within a minute of putting on make up, and a minute later--I was soaked again. It was a very uncomfy night. After that, I just cropped, added contrast and made the color warmer, giving it a "golden" sort of glow.
I don't expect this to do very well because I think there's too much 'face' and not enough 'gold', but it's the best I could do in such gross conditions xp
Hope you guys like it!

P.S. Yup, that's my real hair color. I know, I rock. ;) |

For the record -- No, you do not need to cut it. There, got that off my chest. :D
I realize you were shooting for a close-up to show focus on the texture and color, but I have to agree with your original idea. The first thing I thought of when I saw the picture was 'Beautiful hair', but then I was following the line of the strands down out of the frame. Like I said, I agree with your original idea; including all of your hair in the shot would have been great.

I loved this shot - gave it a 7. The glamour look is terrific, and your lips really complement your hair. |

The hair tones are really nice. Though I would've preffered a more natural skin tone color. |

I think this is a good idea and I like it. Perhaps the crop could be a bit less tight and a bit of less "flat" lighting. It looks an unpleasant straight flash to me. |
