I think this is an interesting take on a sunset picture, no sky. I like the idea of the water reflecting the colors. I agree with Bob, it looks a little too sharp and I can't tell if the lower part of the picture is wet sand or water. It does seem a little flat in interest, it needs something to bring it alive - Maybe some of the horizon? If this was taken on shore, maybe a bird. The colors of that sunset seem to be very brialliant - looks like it might have been a magical moment. Good job on a first attempt - I'd love to see the progress if you keep trying this type of shot.

| Not my taste, I'm afraid. I think the composition needs more interest, it's a bit empty! There's too much yellow and oversaturation for my taste, and it looks like it's been oversharpened. I think this could have benefited from use of contrast somewhere, ie contrasting different colours, shades, shapes, etc. |
