The tails of three dragon boats, waiting along the shore before the races begin. Dragon boat racing is an ancient sport, and will be featured as an exhibition sport at the Beijing Olympics.
I fully admit to the likelihood of having totally butchered the Chinese title. It should mean "Quiet Morning Dragon Boat" but could be something completely off the wall like "Martians Burnt My Shoelaces" for all I know. (Actually, I do know that "longzhou" is "dragon boat". The rest I left up to an online Chinese to English dictionary.)

| one of only 3 tens I gave out in this challenge, I'm disappointed it didn't finish higher...I think you were short-changed at least half a point...I wasn't certain, but I suspected during voting that this was yours...anyway, I don't think you could have done anything better with this...stupid voters :) |

| Simply beautiful. The colors are gorgeous and the shapes are excellent. I think this might feel a bit more zennish for me if there were only the one boat, particularly that one in the upper left-hand corner, but still the pattern of the shapes makes for a long line to look out which can be calming. The calm water also helps speak to stillness and serenity and the shapes in general have a simple nature to them. I gave a 7 |
