this makes me feel peaceful and inspired one of my best haiku (though not one of my best scores. sorry about that). It reminds me of a web page I made a long long time ago:

| Trading Post - Nice and simple shot here. Great gradient in the sun but overall not alot of wow factor to this (but then would alot of wow be zen?). The sky is a bit noisy. Using a noise reduction filter or even some blur to reduce that would have helped out. Mayeb tweaking the colors a bit to bring out more than the gray could have helped as well. |

Very peaceful! I like how you got the sun with the red tint and without blowing out the whole picture. That little bit of pink just above the sun really adds a nice touch in my opinion. The only nit I'd have is the overall color seems a bit gray to me - not sure if you can tweak that in post processing without changing the colors you captured in the sun or not. Composition is very good - nice execution of rule of thirds. |

| on a personal level, this doesn't feel particularly zenlike to me... the water feels wrong for this sort of harmonious themed challenge. it's hard to put in words, really... the colours feel a bit washed out too; could do with a levels and contrast adjustment possibly. it's nice, but just lacks that special something - 5 |

| I love the clarity of the sky and sun. However, the water is a little murky looking but I'm not really sure what to advice you there except maybe making this into a duotone. |

| Ok, the sun is gorgeous here but there is something missing, probably there's too much water or not enough? Something seems unbalanced |

| There is serene and there is boring. This shot tends more towards the boring, I'm sorry to say. The lack of contrast throughout the picture and the predominance of that dull gray is what creates this effect. The waves on the water don't contribute to a serne feeling for me. Overall I think this might have been a nice idea but needs work to better meet the challenge. 4. |
