Shot at the base of Nantahala Falls this past Saturday. The wife and I went up to take a short rafting trip, but the weather really sucked. Instead, and to her dismay, we sat out in the weather shooting for two or three hours. I have many that I am fond of, and this was the hardest challenge to just pick one. Anyway, here it is.

Major congrats, Eric, on your 5th place finish. I love this shot. I agree with Melethia that his expression really makes this photo, but I also think the angle of the kiyak, with the dunking he is about to get, make this photo stand out, too. Superb shot.

Wow! Nice of you to stop by, enter a challenge, and score over a 7. :-) Your wife should get bonus points, too, I might add. Looks like you had a great time shooting, though! So what makes this shot work? Probably the key thing, imo, is that you can see, very clearly, the expression on his face. After that, there's very good adherence to the rule of thirds, good color, and the stopped and not quite stopped motion. I can't see anything to suggest to make it "better". Great shot, great score!

great shot ... congrats on the finish (although, getting a 7 and not a ribbon sucks - been there myself)

good capture of someone about to have a "opps moment". I'm guessing that he wasn't intending on this pose?

Nice shot, loads of action. Like the composition, do not like the border at all. So many shots in this challenge managed to crop out part of the subject, I'm glad you got all of the guy and his paddle in here. Really nothing bad to say, though a slight increase in constrast might give a little more pop to this. Still, really nice work. Good job, 6.
