I like the framing, but the colors seem a little muted and you expect vibrancy from this kind of scene.

This is a tough one to catch. The butterfly having it's wings nearly closed makes it almost impossible to retain detail unless you have a very deep aperture. But then you'd have to have a very high shutter speed to stop the motion. What to do...what to do. ;^) I also wonder if instead of a square crop (I'm assuming, maybe incorrectly, that this was in landscape orientation originally), if you had taken just a bit more off the left and right to give it more of a portrait orientation, what that would have looked like. Just a thought. All of the above is JMO of course. Good luck in the challenge.

this is a tough shot, especially the way those things fly. even though you have caught this one in flight, the positioning doesn't really do much for the composition. this time of day leaves the colors so washed that you might have done well to consider a bw conversion.

Pretty good shot considering how hard it is to catch these guys in flight! Would have been better if he'd been a bit more in focus and not quite so close to the top of the frame.

Seldom you see this, with the butterfly flying, but it could have been more defined. Nice try though. Really. 7.
