I want dessert now. I love everything about this except the gray/blue color around the edge of the dish, I know ... picky, picky. Excellent clarity on the fruit. |

what a tough shot to try to pull off. i haven't done one, yet, and when i do, it probably won't be for a challenge--it looks like too much work! good luck. |

Very nice sharp image. Lighting seems a little harsh to me though. |

the fact that the strawberry is covered in milk already kind of suggests that this is following a number of attempts to get it right, which kind of lessens the wow! impressed! factor. if it was a clean virgin strawberry, then i think it would be more striking. the other thing i would add is that the lighting seems to strong, pretty much wiping out the crown you get from the splosh. it's still a decent capture, nice and sharp, and certainly fits the challenge. 5. |

Nooooo! Not another 'splash' shot! ;^) Well, ok. Since you did it so nicely I guess I can let it slide. He-he. Let's see, you have a well focused strawberry, ROT composition, mostly 'frozen' milk splash, with good exposure. Should do just fine with this one. |

"Great Job" from the "Great Job Baggie"! Who doesn't love strawberries and cream? A great shot that subliminally appeals to just about everyone. The movement in the cream is perfect, as is the position of the strawberry set into the cream at just the right angle. The coloring is very soft, with just the right amount of bright color interruping that softness in the strawberry. I've looked at this a bit more, and I don't know how I feel about the rim of the glass or bowl in the upper right corner. On one hand, it's a tad distracting. On the other hand, it's very faint and exhibits the vessle that the cream is in. I don't know if shooting this from a bigger bowl would have allowed you a different shot that would eliminate that, or if it would be better just the way it is. I'd have to see them side by side to judge that. But, that is not in the scope of THIS shot, so I will judge it as it is. Where do I see this shot hanging? Well, in a kitchen. In a restaraunt. In an ice cream shoppe, in the pots and pans section at a department store. Mass appeal is written all over this! Upping my original vote of an 8 to a 10 after my second pass through! |
