A swampy ditch left by Ivan in the Alabama Gulf State Park in Orange Beach, Alabama. This should actually be a bicycle trail.

BTW, the trees are all leaning to the Right. That's due to storm surge from Hurricane Ivan. :-)

The trees are dead because of salt water brought in by Hurricane Ivan. She killed most of the pines within her storm surge's range.

One of my most extensively PP'd submissions:
Sky and trees are a second layer of the RAW file underexposed by about 1 stop. Blended using the eraser tool around the top of the grass.
Run the whole thing through Alien Skins Exposure for a Velvia look.
Sky and water were painted a bit with a blue brush on a Color layer for a more vivrant sky.
Some dodging around the water edge to bring back details in shadows.
Burned around the edges of the photo some.
Removed some power lines with heal/clone.
Big agressive s-curve :-)
Hue/Sat layer with layer mask to add saturation to the sky.
Smart Sharpen
Crop and resize
Smart Sharpen.
Save for Web.

A favorite orientation for landscapes. Excellent colors - so rich and inviting. I want to dive right in. (is it just ever so slightly tilted to the right? May be an optical illusion)

For someone who doesn't do landscapes, this is pretty durn nice! Also a lovely but sobering reminder of the damage Mother Nature can bring. Congrats on a good score and an even better photograph!

Leroy, this is good work. I liked the vivid colours and also the ripples in the water (refreshing compared to longer exposed, smooth silky waters). If there's anything thing at all that I'd like to point out, it's the distracting tilt/rotation that the photo seems to appear - they seem to lean to the right. Overall, good photo and worthy attempt at landscape.

I like it. Good composition, nice bright colors, and attractive scenery. It's a shame the sky is blown out, I think a grad ND or some processing would help there - having a dark and saturated part at the top of cloudy skies can really help the image sometimes.

the bold colors add interest to this, the tallest tree looks to be fading a little in the bright sky, but I'm drawn toward your vibrant foreground and mid section

Pretty...the depth give the appearence that it's leaning to the right and the sky could be a little bluer if possible. All in all, I still like it.

Technical: the colors are amazing, the composition is great because it isn't quite centered...
Creativity: it might not be too creative in the fact that there are alot of landscape type of photos, but the fact that you have many different landscape elements is what makes this photo stand out from the others.
Personal Opinion: i love the softness of the photo with the bright bold colors of nature...absolutely beautiful!!!
