Challenge: Stopped Motion III (Advanced Editing IV)
Camera: Nikon D200
Lens: Nikon AF Zoom-Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 VR DG IF-ED
Location: Cleveland OH
Date: Aug 6, 2006
Galleries: Sports, Candid
Date Uploaded: Aug 6, 2006

This was a "Candid" shot taken from a distance. I did think about asking them for some camera shots. Then I could have gotten better closeup and angles, etc. Next time I will. This was cropped from the full net, all players visible, size.

Another suitable outake had a less blurry background with distracting subjects.

Good job stopping the action, I would have liked this more if I could have seen one of their faces more clearly.

Interesting to look at. I like the kicked up sand being "frozen"...that works for 'Stopped Motion'. ;^) On the down side, the image seems a little flat like it needs a shot of contrast, and maybe a small boost in color saturation. Best of luck to you in the challenge.

decent enough action shot, but, if shot from a different perspective, you could have had a much more dynamic shot without it being so busy (like shooting from the ground up from under one of the post). above avg.

Great shot of a really fun sport - guy in the shorts should be up there... and dang, she's got good vertical!
