I'm really just entering this to see how well a photo can do in this challenge when there was no planning involved. I took this at a horse ranch in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It was so frustrating taking all the pics I took when I didn't know what the challenges were. Hopefully it won't be my worst entry, but it's very likely.

:::After Challenge:::

I am VERY dissapointed in you all! Here I am, trying to make a candid shot as average as possible, and you all give me high scores. You don't know how frustrating it is to see your least favorite entry climb above all your others except for one! Honestly, sometimes I don't know what you are all thinking...

p.s. thanks for the comments ;)

nice idea, but a bit soft. tough lighting situation as well. this image definitely has its place, even though it's probably sitting mid-range for the challenge.

I love this shot. Nice use of the sepia tones. Beautiful sharpness on the rope and the guy just looks cool (from his hat to his boots - perfect for the shot). I wish I could see the top of the rope but I'm not complaining. 8

This is a nice image. I like the sepia tone to it and the range is good. The subject is entertaining and fun to look at. Motion has certainly been stopped as required for the challenge. You will probably hear a complaint or two about the shadow on his face. Overall this should do well, but voters can be fickle. Not sure if the subject has enough 'Wow' to break the top 20 - I hope it does. Good luck.

Novel and well-captured. Nice choice of duotones. I might experiment with broadening the tonality, fooling with the duotone curves, or trying on some shadow/highlight changes to see if some of the dark areas can be brought out, just a touch.

OMG that title is horrible, picture is good however it would be better with the entire lasso in frame.
