I absolutely *hate* the challenge details on this one. Why have a challenge and then narrow it down so that some potentially great shots don't get entered? Most of my best motorsport shots are taken in the pitlane :-/

By way of protest, here's my blatantly off-topic entry, the 'action' of calling it quits :P

For what it's worth, this is one of the three tens I gave in this challenge :)

Very pretty, wish there was a little action though maybe could have been last thrill of the day, but I think this was about the action. I do like the waves breaking though and his walking out... also would hope to have him more in the rule of thirds... but it's a a very pretty romantic sports shot :-)

A get the feeling this is a fisherman coming in? It is a little dark to tell.

This is a pretty sunset shot, but while there is a small fishing boat present in the shot, the main emphasis is on the sunset and not on the boat. Consequently, this doesn't really seem much like a sports shot to me. That's just my opinion, of course.

Great colors and feeling to this shot. Really shows the dedication of the surg boarder. Nice capture of the sun. Jacko. 9

Beautiful colors but the subject is way to dark....what is it?

I love this shot - atmosphere, color, scenery - (but it looks like he's going out again - call it "The Last Run" or something directionally neutral) - maybe could have considered "golden third" to set up in-camera or crop afterward

great shot. everything about it is beautiful. The perfect sunset, great atmospheric element, the breaking waves, the sufers pose, the silhouette, the colors, the composition. nice work. *applause*

Beautiful timing and lighting. Very emotive and I love the crashing wave in the distance.

the landscape seems more dominate than the sport, but never the less, its a great shot.

wish the surfer were more visible, but the sky is great. a real "endless summer" feel to this.

This is a beautiful shot, but your surfer is getting lost in the darkness. This shot is also a beautiful sunset/seascape photo, but it doesn't carry 'sports' as a theme with any strength. It meets the challenge because of the surfer, even though the surfer is more of an 'extra' element of this image. If I was asked to categorize this photo, 'sports' would not make the list :)

Beautiful, but just a little too dark. Of course, that sould just be my monitor too, so if it looks okay to you, then just ignore me. :)
