Wow, I have never seen anything like that. That's amazing! I love the colors and how you've lit the flower as well. Well done!

One of my daughters has done a 4-week summer course at Brooknic (my nickname for Brooklyn Botanic Garden) for the last 5 years. I get to take her and drop her off around 8:00am and then hang around the gardens before the crowds arrive. During that early morning lull, when the rabbits are running about, last year, I managed to take hundreds of photos of lotus and myriads of butterflies. It was a great learning ground - thrown in at the deep end with my, as then, new DSLR. This year, however, the lotuses have not been nearly as good - even though I am now much better equipped and learned. I think they flowered quite a bit earlier than last year and I have missed much of the colour. I notice the swallowtail butterflies are also tatty, at the end of their breeding season now. Last year it was much later that they showed broken wings. Brooknic is by far one of the best botanic gardens I have been to and so much the better for being succinct. Kew, in London (where I used to live) is grand but vast. Glad to see your capture above. Nice background isolation you managed.
