Anyone who is from San Francisco knows it's rare to find a hot day at the beach. This Saturday was one of those rare days. The beach was full of people, and I spent several hours filling up my 512mb CF card.
Strangely enough, my favorite picture was of these 2 surfers. You'll see surfers like these year-round at the beaches of Northern California.
I took many pictures, and took many that were more interesting than this one. This one, I liked for purely technical reasons. The colors of the surfboards, with a little coaxing, jump out at you. The deep black of the wetsuits, the red trim, the blue... This photo's technical qualities just blew me away.
My first challenge after getting my camera stolen in June. Let this be a lesson to you all: Don't leave your camera on your car seat, even for 10 mins! |

| This photo has good foreground composition - I like the colours of the boards and the reflections in the wet sand. I think that it's let down a bit, though, because the horizon is sloping. |

| It's a nice picture with good colors, but the horizon tilts from left to right quite badly. |

so many details about the beach that I love, gooshy footprints and such. i can hear and smell everything in this picture.
