Trying something different, don't know how well it will be received.
Laid down over the bank to get this low angle. One of the horses walked into view to frame it up just right,

I just want to thank everyone who left comments on this. It feels good to know this appealed to some since it was quite different! I know it was more of a subtle technical shot than a "jump out & grab you" kind of shot! I was hoping for a higher end result based on the feedback but oh well, guess that's where it landed! Thanks again

Ditto, SkyNevada! This is an amazing photo. Everything about it is perfect in my opion. Highly UNDERrated! I "faved" it. :)

9 - Very nice. The only thing I think may make this even better, is if the grass/seed head were entirely in front of the horse's head - as in totally 'framed' - but.. minor. Perhaps a little sharper too on that said grass, but again minor and - likely there just unable to be appreciated at this size. Lastly, to really 'nit-pick', your title all capitalized too would make this even more professional - in my opinion.

Interesting subject. The horse is out of focus!!! Just figured someone would say that. Actually I like the shot. I may have cropped this differently so that the first grass I saw in the foreground was in focus instead of out.

It's a very good composition, but it's too "grey" ! Try to change levels (for example)...

Now that is a narrow DoF!

An interesting idea, and the horse draws your attention. It's too bad the grass is so small as I had to search to find it and understanding the meaning of your title.

I hope people will not pass this one over because the thumbnail version was not that impressive. I think those that have taken the time to look at this larger version will be impressed. Awesome photo...thanks!

That's pretty cool... minimalist somehow, and interesting. Overall flat, so would really have benefitted from adjustment layers to improve contrast and enhance colours. But an elegant image for me, well thought out.
