Shot on the same day as this photo [thumb]374493[/thumb].

Saw that Skiprow won a ribbon with a skateboarder in From The Ground Up II so I thought I would give it a try as well, see how it does. My other entry is doing well, so hopefully this will do decently also.

 Comments Made During the Challenge

I'm leaving comments on shots I voted low, so here we go. Biggest problem here is not meeting the challenge in the least. This photo isn't shot from the perspective of the ground up, it's show from above looking down. That is a huge problem. Don't care for how the kid's upper body is cropped off. I think there might be some promise in a shot like this if shot from below, from a different angle that includes what is probably a really interesting expression on the kid's face, doesn't overwhelm the eye with the boring gray of the skatepark concrete, etc. Good effort.

maybe crop a little more from the top

Perfect timing. Great focus and the angles make for an interesting composition. The only thing I see that might make it a little better IMHO is to have moved the crop so the whole barrier was included and the portion along the right side, which looks like a bad section of the ramp, was excluded.

I think it should do well...the focus and crop are right on!

Kind of tired of jumping skateboarders, but this is good. The shadow to the left and the overall composition. I like the crop. Maybe a touch centered with the skater, but not a bad image overall.
