 This is one of the antique trains that runs on the Cumbres Toltec Scenic Railroad between Antonito, Colorado and Chama, New Mexico. It is a very pretty ride through the mountains. On the way into Chama it travels close to the highway for a few miles and you can get nice pictures of it.

I thought this looked kind of cool with all the colors desaturated except yellow and green. It reminded me of a Ghost Train carrying departed souls into the next world.

Editing: Crop; adjustment layers at 67% for levels & curves; adjustment layer at 100% for hue/saturation - desaturate all channels except yellow and green; adjustment layer for contrast; flatten image; exposure - gamma; noise removal with Helicon Noise Filter; resize; smart sharpen; save for web.

Excellent clarity for the most part - the font of the engine looks a bit soft. Love the black/white versus the color - looks like selective desaturation and I think it works here (though I don't know if the desaturation worked out evenly, seems some color bits here and there). Nice composition and control of the light. Great capture. I gave a 7

Nicely photographed. Just to think I have traveled on such trains (not the modern revived tourist versions) in my lifetime. I must be aging ;-)
