For anyone that was interested in how I took this picture. I just used the my camera and lens listed above on a tripod with the image stabilizer turned on. I took a bunch of pictures at different exposures until I found the best one.

Nice clear moon shot. I think it would have some energy if the moon were off center.

If this isn't a fake, this is amazing!

Well, for what little I know about moon shots, which is next to nill, this is good, I'm amazed at the detail in it. Quite fascinating!

I spent some time "shooting the moon" this week...this tops anything I accomplished. Looking forward to seeing how you did it. 9

What a grand! view. Gazing at that battered objet d'art makes me think. In this challenge, where most of the photos depict an object at the base and one at the apex or top, this stands out as achieving the challenge but with the object at the base implied (being the viewer). Over thinking this obviously. 8.

Very cool shot! Please post your gear and settings. I wonder if a bit more sharpening would have made this very dramatic.

That looks too good to be true but I will take your word that it is. A telescope/DSLR combination I presume? As it does not show much upward perspective I will dock 2 points and give you an 8.
