the focus seems to be out across the whole picture. |

I don't see any action here, I have no problem with chess being a sport, but having no action happening bothers me, and I don't feel that it really makes it in the challenge. I like your composition though and the fact you didn't just shoot it straight on you put it diagonally into the shot. |

Maybe the beginning of the analysis or teaching of war .... |

Chess a sport? Well, it's certainly a competitive activity, though I'm not sure if I'd call it a sport. The colours are generally good and the choice of perspective is interesting. There a bit of a problem with unwanted reflections, especially in the lower left area. |

For me this picture is outstanding! very good! Just a small suggestion though: I feel that if you moved one pawn (for example the white pawn in front of the King) forward one space, it would have been a better "action" shot effect than just having the game in its basic set up. |

No action. Not to much of it seems to be in focus to me either. More light or a tigher crop may have helped. |

Don't really see much action in this. Exposure is a bit high for the white pieces (note the bottom of the knight) |

I always considered chess a game, but anyway... I like the lighting, it looks like it's coming through textured glass. Nice. The overall image seems kind of jaggy, especially around the white pieces in the foreground. |

good concept... exposure needs a little help.. the hot spots on the white pieces are avoidable :) |
