Thanks everyone for commenting on this. I've spent the past week evaluating field training exercises. I actually got to do the moulage for this one because our actual medical folks got lost on the way to the site.

I'm glad that we in the military still have some backing from everyone else. Some days it really seems like we only have the other military folks to look to.

THANKS!!!!

Did you get to use this as actual training material? In other words, were you semi-officially documenting? Good shot, by the way.

Having a son in the Marines, I am thankful for every moment, every day spent training, practicing in every possible senario that they may face.

Personally, I think it is a shame that each and every one of us citizens does not take refresher courses, on a periodic basis, like CPR, defensive driving, natural disaster preparedness, and yes the list can be long.

As for the photo, it is in focus, very sharp, conveys the subject in a tasteful and educational fashion. May not be the right technical terms as used by those with more photo savy than I. But I like it!

I like the shot it is a great candid. I would rotate it 90 degrees clockwise. That will make it easier to see what is going on and make it a stronger composition.

We in the service train like this everyday, and use effects to make it as real as possible. This is so that we know how to do our job and don't freak out when it is go time. Some times when you are doing it for days on end it is good to have a laugh now and then.

Don't speak unless you have walked in our shoes. No hold on. The US forces fight to give you the right to say what you want. No POOR TASTE just training for your rights.

I would think that any service member would see this picture for what it is:

A combat medical training scenario.

What the hell is that? A smiling mortally wounded US Serviceman?

Couldn't you have put a frowning Hezbola Psyco instead?
