What happened? Did she lose her key outside the verandah or something, and was looking for it?

Example of how a different crop can transform a photo. In this case, I followed the "golden rule" of placing the models eyes/nose at roughly thirds in the frame. The original is titled "The Look", something better emphasized in the upper image -- according to my eye at least.

I find concentrating on the eyes or center of a face and puting them somewhere in a "rule of thirds" position provides a great starting point for framing portraits. I try hard to take all my original shots with this in mind. It's SO easy to forget and snap the subject dead center.
