Just a small candle that was lit. I liked the cleaner black & white for it.

You chose well, imo. Nice composition and the frame accentuates the flame nicely.

This is a very attractive simple shot. I thought I did not like candle shots until I saw this. Great use of B&W and a lovely contrast. Nice crop and negative space. Possibly could be centered but I'm not complaining...back to bump you to an 8.

Nice and simple. The border is a bit distracting given the simple content of the image and the flame could do with being a bit crisper

A very nice, simple composition, but perhaps one more click to the right would bring out a little more detail along the rim and give the flame a little dimension.

I like your idea. I don't like the b&w. Part of the fascination of fire for me is the colors it can create. Nice composition but like I said I need it in color. 5

Ooooooh. This is so obviously meeting the challenge, and doing it in such a unique way - the first shot I've come across where the flame isn't orange/yellow/red. It gives my eyes something new to ponder, and I applaud your monochromatic idea. Border and centered composition add to the elegance of this shot.

I would have never thought to do fire in b&w. This fits so well though. Awesome pic. It needs to be on a wall somewhere. :)

Nice capture. I think color in this case would have been a better choice. Good Luck.

Simple elegance, almost zen-like. Love the B&W.

I like the simple beauty in this, but it's a shame the flame couldn't be centered and have a more symmetrical glow to it.
