this is a self portrait inspired by the Audrey Hepburn era. classic soft lighting (1 pearl lamp, 1 fluorescent lamp, one blue lamp and one one standard 25w light bulb reflecting of bamboo). in the background i've covered hundreds of fairy lights with a white bed sheet, creating depth and romance in the image. i've added the black boarder because i was having trouble keeping the viewers focus centered - this was a problem created by the body angle so the heavy boarder worked nicely as a block on those lines and created a resting point for the viewer on the subjects right eye. i like this photo (particularly because it was a difficult one) but i cant help but be distracted by the strong shadow on my shoulder :(

Kind of blurry and strange but I like it.

I wish the eyes were sharper.

There was a lot of potential here but without being very much in focus and the overall tone being as it is, doesn't have a lot of appeal to me. Was this shot through a veil as well for a soft focus look?

Needs stronger levels of black and white. This image seems really flat and needs some differance in tones.

A little too out of focus. But nice composition.

Technical: the coloring is great, the composition could be a little more, the softness is a little too much, but that's ok...the composition is really nice!
Creativity: i love her expression, the pearls adds alot!! nice photo!

Lithning a litle flat on the face imho and it simply seems out of focus. I dont find the colortones very exciting and I think more contrast would have been better.

great bokeh but way to OOF for me. even if intentional. the eyes or something in focus would be much better. 5

You've probably heard this before, but this is completely out of focus. I'm thinking your were going for soft focus, but it's not working here. Keep trying and good luck.

I ma not a fan of the soft focus here. I would prefer to see it in color or black and white.

Nice, but I would like the softness to stop at the eyes.
