the bottom part of the photo is underexposed, perhaps flash would be useful here?

The photo says a lot on its own, but I think a more ironic title would be better.

The sunlight was working against you here. :-) The foreground is dark and the background is a bit washed out.

Don't be afraid to use a flash outdoors to fill in harsh shadows

Foreground way too dark. Background overexposed. Good concept but perhaps a fill-in flash and tweak to exposure would have helped.

This pic could possibly have been metered better by choosing a spot half way down on the right, allowing more details of the interesting foreground to show through. Also, a bit more cropping?

This could just as well convey inner city rehabilitation! The foreground (also the left) is just way too dark. The middle with the sunlit walls and all the action is nice though.
