Top of Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park. I was up in Bucksport ME for the funeral of a beloved family member and swung through the park and took a short drive up the mountain in the rain to clear my thoughts. My kids needed to stretch thier feet and thier lungs a bit having sat still for so many hours, so I parked at the top of the mountain. No crowd at all because of the rain...
Everybody in the family missed this rainbow but me. Of course, I was trying to shoot and an emotional blubbering mess at the time, and I\'m sure that every tourist there thought I was a complete loony - but I got the shot. :)
No matter how well this does: Dedicated to Uncle Louis - more fondly known as Uncle WOOOOOWHEEE! Always a smile, a ray of hope and a ball of sunshine. He loved bigger than everything you could see from this mountain top...
In memory of every.single.happy.memory I have of him - and there are thousands of them that are still making me laugh.

Very pretty. I wonder if it would benefit from enhancing the contrast in the sky. Also, if you have the pixels to spare, an interesting alternative crop might be to leave out the left and bottom; it would put more emphasis on the dramatic clouds and rainbow to the right. |

Technical: love the coloring, and contrast is good...composition is a little too centered for me, but its still nice!
Creativity: i love the little rainbow in the background...
Score: 10 |

That's not a part of the world I have visited but your rendering brings it nearer to me. The wide open sky and elevation from which you took the photo give no hint that the world is indeed round. |

That rainbow sure makes the image come together! It draws the eye to the horizon, and then you realize how grand the vista is. Did you try a more panoramic crop, loosing just a bit off the top and the ground at the bottom? |

Rainbows are so hard to get right. Your horizon runs right thru the center. You could loose a quarter of the image and still keep the rainbow intact. |
