 It was this or a nice black and white shot which I dropped in my portfolio called 'Less Traveled'. To me, the BW shot was very magical and mysterious but I figured I would get a bunch of dnmc's and the usual 'why did you enter a BW photo' comment. So I took a stab at eye-candy editing. Hate the photo, but it's all I've got so I've entered it. I was trying to get a wall of light to blast out of the chest but couldn't pull it off. So I selective color'd the light green for hopefully a magical, mysterious glow sort of effect. The hotspot on the lid sucks but oh well.

I like the concept, and to me, it clearly meets the challenge.

The green glow is nice, but I think the cropping hurts it. If there were some black space around it to convey an empty room where something interesting was going on in this trunk, that's grab me more.

Instead, the close cropping reduces the drama and puts my attention on niggling things like lack of focus and wondering what's being hidden in the corners of the lid by the blown highlights. 5.

a little too blown out with the greens. i would like more detail in the lights and in the darker areas of the chest as well. good concept though
