Just needs a touch of lighting on the underneath side of the hat to separate from BG. A couple of the butterflies are a little washed out but i like the arrangement.

original comment during the challenge: What hat? With a hat, it's a magic trick. Without it, it's an attractive bunch of paper (?) butterflies that are unfortunately unconnected to magic or mystery.

It IS a pretty picture, though, and I would vote it higher in a different, more relevant challenge. 4.

Followup comment:

After viewing the shot with a friend, she realized that the dark felt horizontal thing is the hat's brim. During the challenge, and until she said that, I thought that was the surface on which the hat was supposed to be resting.

So - the takeaway here is that viewers don't always see what we see!

Neat idea. The glare off the top two butterflies detracts. We know they are paper anyway, but that totally breaks the illusion. Nice composition. 6
