This was a lucky capture! I didn't even see him. My wife was the one who pointed the photo opportunity out to me. He is actually a baby, his shell was probably 3-4 inches across, which may explain his success walking on the pads. I'm just glad he didn't duck under before I got close enough to get this shot as he and my glass were both rather small :-)

Lucky capture. I didn't realize turtles could walk across lily pads too. As a matter of fact, I'm going to go try to walk across some later. If a turtle can do it, why can't I?
