Not much PP. Minor amount of cropping and slight use of USM. Otherwise, this is the way it came out of the camera.

Trading post...
You seem to be suffering the same scores as me lately! This is a decent shot that completely meets the challenge. Technically it's fine. Certainly worth more than a sub 5 score. It just doesn't have the "WOW" factor that everyone seems to be looking for. This is so frustrating isn't it?

I quite like the lines in this and am rather surpised at the score. I suspect it's because there's not enough emphasis on the "rope" part, maybe? It's the kind of shot I like, though.

Like the idea. The blue is lovely in the background and serves as a great backdrop for the spars. Found the lines and spars to be too busy, though. Maybe a little less of them would have had more impact.

I would have liked a little more constrast/saturation

I like the sharpness of the picture. The ropes don't seem featured prominently here - there are a lot of them but they're small and overshadowed by the mast.

What ship is this?
08/23/2006 11:04:12 AM
Oh no.. You could have gotten a great shot of ropes on that ship. This is "all over the place". No common theme and its messy.

Focus on a part of the rope or compose your shot to show the rope in "action".

The rope element is lost in this photo.

Sory mate. You're free to PM me if you need any clarification.

Cheers

Your title brings humor and clarity to your submission. I went through the marina looking for subjects and while there was lots of rope, I found it hard to compose an interesting shot. Good work.
