Well composed, but I think ultimately looks too much like a snapshot |

Excellent concept that fits the challenge well. Framing and placement of the subject is good. The scene itself and the subject's inclusion in it is very well conceived. The view from behind shows how the subject is "chillin'" but leaves the viewer wondering what he is thinking.
Color seems a bit off and weighted toward the red and magenta. Looks like it needs a color correction aplied. In Photoshop this can be done using a 'curves' adjustment for the red channel by just dragging the centerpoint lower and to the right. This will tone down the red and bring out more green. 'selective color' can be used to reduce the intensity of the magenta of the ground only for a more natural look.
It is true I was "chillin'" while lost but in a much less friendly place from this. I'd much rather have been here, especially with all that nice water, shade and a real place to sit. Where I was it got upwards of 104-108 degrees (40-42 Celsius) every day, there was little shade, food and every plant had thorns. Finding water was a bit tricky and it tasted bad. And it was hard to find comfortable rocks to sit on. :) Other than that, it was just like you pictured it. ;) LOL!!! - Steve |
