Great angle and a lovely wide angle shot - imo - I would have loved it more if the rope in the foreground was more in focus and the ship was kindof lost in the bokeh ..7

This is a great shot. The immesity of the ropes are amazing. Love the angle. Title seems perfect. I like the imbalance of the shot too. Looks natural. I like to see natural and how well it can be captured with little alteration. My eye isnt a trained one but I am qualified to love a pic and Im falling for this one. 8

my only complaint is the out of focus rope takes up 1/4 and my eye keeps wndering back to it. 7 (thanks for the daydream)

I would rather see the rope in the front in focus and the ship in the background out of focus. Your composition is excellent, I just don't like the DOF.

Very neat "sheet shot." However, I feel like the focus should be the reverse of what it is. The eye is drawn--quite forcefully--to the hitches around the sheet but it is out of the focal area. The resulting bluriness pushes the eye away from the subject and back into the other three quarters of the image. I think that if you had focused on the detail of the rope and left the rigging out of focus the image would be better. Still, though, I think it an interesting shot. Good job. What ship is that, out of curiosity? It's not the USCGA Eagle is it?
