 One of the first photos I took with dads old 50mm 1.4 MF lens - bloody hard to focus most of the time but I hit it right on the head with this one and got a false sense of security. the next 10 or so shots were OOF by a smidge and no good, but at least I got one right.

This is quite nice but what I'm missing is some highlights. The midtones and darker tones are great but there isn't much contrast. I love the focus and the placement in the shot. Some layers adjustments might fix it right up. He almost has a young Hemmingway look about him. Overall, well done, just a little tweaking would make it perfect for me. ;~D

I like the casualness of this portrait, along with the detached feel i get from the subject, like he doesn't know or care that he is being shot. Maybe a touch more light from camera left would have bumped the contrast slightly and given it more punch. NOt sure!???

Very nice. Great capture with a candid feel. The b&w works great and you caught great detail even with the challenge of a manual focs lens. You and your dad should be proud of this shot. Makes me want ot go and take more pics of my dad.

Very nice black and white. I like the intense look on the subjects face. You did a great job on capturing the detail needed to make the black and white effect work well. great job!
