Awwwww another Goodman photo that touches my heart and makes me smile!! I think you're still batting 1,000 :) I love the dark, old look to this, contrasted with those amazing smiles!!!

Another fantastic one!

such a feel-good photo :)
I've always liked photos with perspective, and your shot here made me look into the far end of the wooden walkway. The two little cuties gave lots of life into an otherwise still-life shot. But I'm sure both would have looked great nevertheless.

Good one, Lesley, that smile is adorable! Like the highlights in the path.

Cute image, with a little working it could be even better. But nice concept. The levels seems to be working well also.

Started at 8, bumping to 9. Two great expressions, super use of your lens to achieve the POV.

Nice candid moment. I'm not sure what your goal is with the shot but if you get down to their levels when shooting kids it makes them seem less small and you won't that awkward up stretched neck look. I do like your b/w conversion.

Great use of leading lines and superb tones & detail.
Visually heart-warming and superb in composition.
One of the BEST black & white images I have seen in a very, very long time.

Lighting and contrast tones are spot on in this B&W. Love the expressions on the two girls - one adorable smile and the other happily sucking on the lolly. Interesting how the composition includes the bridge going off into 'vanishing point of the horizon line'. It is the path that the girls come from as they stand in the foreground infront of us. But I really don't think you needed to include the whole bridge as that the main focus is the two girls. Had the composition been trying to introduce a conceptual idea of 'pathways we travel' or 'life paths' then I could see a reason for inclusion. But, as I see it here it doesn't add anything to the composition and serves to distract our attention away from the human interest element which are the two girls. They are the main focus of the shot and a tighter focus and crop would keep the attention focused solely on these two.

Good viewpoint and composition. The setting is nice and I really like how you have managed the light on the far end of the bridge. Beautiful girls and the spirit of youth.

This is a very fun photo with great b&w contrasts. I like the leading line of the boardwalk, it pulls you through the photo very nicely yet never takes away from the main subjects. Great photo!

My first comment here on this forum after watching this site for several weeks.
I really like this picture. It has a great sharpness and using wide angle on the kids makes it outstanding. The title suits the picture and the kids look nice and natural. White clothing is nice with the overal dark surrounding.
My eye is still looking at the light point in the back of the bridge. But I also want to focus on the kids, it's fun.
B/w is also a great choice, I wouldn't change a thing in this picture!.

regards,

Tom.

Great tonal range on this and excellent perspective with the line of the foot bridge. The lily pads add a nice balance in texture/design, and the girls are adorable. I also like how the little one is staying behind the older one, and the older one has a more self-assured stance. Hopefully this is getting printed and framed and hung somewhere.

The expression says it all: life is good! Also great use of deep focus, Gregg Toland would have been proud of this shot.

Is it the expressions? the leading lines? The tonal conversion? Not sure, but I love this image. Excellently taken and processed. Crop and composition perfect. 9 - good luck in the challenge!

holy crap! (heh, see the Free Study thread for an explanation of that...don't worry, it's a good thing). Very impressed with this shot. There is a very small chance it's Judi as this looks like it could be the bridge in her Magic and Mystery challenge, but probably not. My first 8+ vote. 9

Nice toning work. I'm not sure about the slight distort on the foreground subjects.
