I think this photo is beautiful. I am a beginner on the technical side, but i dont think you have to be a professional to appreciate a good photo. I'm surprised people commented on her weight... the comments should be on the photo, not on the model (I say go her for even having the guts to be photographer nude!!)... I personally enjoy the lighting, I think it gives great detail to her body...

Well done Mike!!!

Thanks to all who voted this image high, thanks for all the comments both good and not so good.
This is Renee King a very experienced figure model and she is very professional. She was able to move to places before I asked and had a very good awareness of the light and how to use it since she is also a photographer.

As far as the comments where it was decided the picture was a poor angle or you personally don̢۪t like wide angle of the shot and others of the like, well all I can say is to each his own. If you scored me poorly because you have let your personal views cloud your ability to vote, next time move on and don̢۪t vote. If you can put aside your personal opinions of the image (unless it is straight and level, don̢۪t like wide angle) vote weather you think it is a good image photographically.

Two things I didn̢۪t notice at first when I uploaded it were the light stand leg in the image and the blur of the left arm. Well the blur I knew about but didn̢۪t think it would be a problem, if I ever get to shoot a pose like this again I̢۪ll use a flash and shoot at a higher shutter speed. The light stand leg? Well I didn̢۪t see the forest for the trees, LOL. I was so busy loving Renee̢۪s back muscles and her tilt that I missed it. Got me on that one.

Yes she is skinny but no not that skinny she was sitting up straight leaning forward slightly which exaggerated her waistline a bit. I loved the V her back makes and all the shadows showing her frame very clearly.

You can see more images of Renee on my Artistic Nude blog here. Enjoy

Mike

blur on the elbow makes this a much lower score

Very nice curves. Light stand leg could have been cloned out or cropped out.

I dunno. There is a distortion here, perhaps from the perspective(?), that my eye isn't crazy about. The lighting and tonality are very good though.

this is one of very few nudes that are visually interesting. You achieve that by perspective distortion (a wide-angle lens close-up?) and by raking light across the back, revealing the intricate web of muscles and bones across the back. In the process, you give away the game: models are too skinny! Also, the model's head is not turned all the way back over the shoulder, with the usual "do me" look. Instead the model's head is halfway turned, and she seems inquisitive and even annoyed, i.e., "What's going on back there?" Notice that I am simultaneously explaining why I like the picture and why DPC is going to vote it low.

Poor angle

Looks like Venus has a sore neck. The head is out of proportion because you are to close for that lens

I think that Venus had a bigger stomach :-)
Your gorgeous model either held her stomach in, or she's been hungry recently. Then again, my metabolism was similar at her age, so tell her to not take it personal.
Great photo, perfect exposure, except for the slight motion blur in her left elbow. I'm not sure if it was intentional, but it draws the attention upon it and then immediately I see the in-focus hand which is farther away...
Because of this imperfection, only an 8.

Very nice and tastefull! Tones are great also! THere are a couple of spots in your background that could have been easily cloned or healed, but really nice

I'm not liking the wide angle perspective here. Plus, I can't really find any sharp area. Interesting idea though.

wow. shes crazy skinny. dont mean that rudely but thats one tiny waist. it took me by surprise. would prefer it all in focus instead of the focus on just the face but great lighting.

Great angle, good luck. Like the tones as well.

the pose seems a bit awkward to me. Also the light is pretty harsh on her hair. I would ahve cloned out the line on the right in the shadow.
