The negative space gives this shot some mystery, implying that the flower is part of a wider, and possibly more important, environment. I like it.

The soft focus of the flower doesn't match the striking contrast with the black background.

Too much negative space. Would have made this a tall and narrow photo personally. Good lighting.

Beautiful vivid colors. The lighting is perfect. The shadows and light reflections on the flower really help to make it pop out of the shot. The background also helps with this.

Excellent contrast. It really shows the flower. Definitely a high-ranker for this challenge -- predict in the top 10%.
