Hey Rob,

I really appreciate your deeper meaning behind the photo, but people don't give the photos that much thought. My chess pieces are the same way. I have the King in check and no one saw it.

I think in challenges you have a 2 - 5 second window to make an impression. Thanks for sharing your thoughts about the macro shot you took. You put a lot of thought into it.

I found the shadows a bit distracting...but you had a fabulous idea.

Hard to figure from the comments. Each seems to have taken an element of this photo to either like or not.
Try this deeper meaning....The background is a poppy flower picture, blurred a bit. The two poppy pods are turned sideways and pushed together in the shape of an hourglass. The poppy picture is frozen in time, exemplified by the sideways hourglass, while the poppy pods are are themselves an example of how time goes past, decay happens.

I really liked this photo and the symbolizm that went with it.

Nice study - the background is great. I'd like to see the same shot without the harsh shadows - I think they confuse things

The shadows are as interesting as the pods themselves; excellent lighting.

Lighting is a bit *too* harsh. I like the background.

Interesting subject, cool shaddow. The background looks flat - are they real poppies or pictures of poppies? Focus seems a bit soft.
