Experimenting with the luminous effects of dodging.

Editing:

Extreme dodging of iris's using mostly mid-tones (her eyes are natually dark hazel). Burning of area underneath eye using mostly mid-tones. I also dodged parts of the eyelid and lower lid. The photo was very strongly lit with diffused lite so I did no spot editing to the face or body really.

Duplicated background layer and desaturated it with the channel mixer. I believe I set my mode to Luminous after that.

Man, don't know what to say to these tributes, Joey also gave me one. Thanks a lot, Kelly! I'm very curious at which shot inspired you for this one. To me it's the other way around because most of the time you inspire me. Your daughter really fascinates me, she's got something special.

Great PP by the way.

Fan-freaking-tastic! Other than the color one, this is my favorite. Did you do a layer, and then go back and do the blending mode with luminescence? It is terrific and that rope - what a perfect vertical line to add to the texture and mood of the image. Sometimes blurred background with black and white can be funky, but this is spot on.
