I like the shot as a candid/portrait and his look does emote a lot to us. I think the acid wash doesn't serve a big purpose. You look like you were going for a goodman, but naturally aren't as skilled at the look as she is (who is?). I'm not positive about the square crop either, although I don't think it's a huge minus. I gave this a 4. I did it primarily because the acid action didn't make sense to me.

I usually like this kind of PP very much, but the fencepost to either side of the horse look pretty funky and are a bit distracting. Other than I really like this, the subject matter and composition are great.

Great potential but over PP for my taste.

Great capture. Nice use of contrast. the whites of the boys eyes may have been over done and too bright...but great capture.

there is something almost magical about this photo...i'm not sure what it is, but i LOVE this photo. the eyes and expression you have captured on the young boy is wonderful. i also love the post processing effects you've given this photo. awesome! 10!

It looks like the horse has got the wire in his mouth? Good title...I wonder who's discovering whom? It seems there is just a little too much yellow - especially in the grass and the poles are a little to over-exposed - they almost have a 'negative' type effect. Oh, now I see...there is actually three horses! Nevermind about the 'wire in the mouth' thing. Good luck to ya and I hope the kid gets to go for a ride.

A picture tells a thousand words. It's true for yours. Those nags must think the young man has some sugar cubes...

SOME THOUGHTS:

-The word perfection comes to mind!!
-Love everything about this, from the subject to the post processing.
-Super choice with the high contrast
-Love his expression with his hand behind his back... it's very moving :)
-I'm a sucker for horse... SCORE: 10... and into my faves!

I would prefer to see the boy interacting with the horse or have no horse at all IMO. the posts seem washed out.
