 I tried to re-create a shot I had taken quite some time ago. I wanted the focus to be more on the smoke then on the cigarette, but just couldn't make it happen.

I don't expect this to do well at all for a macro shot. The harsh lighting is intentional though. I expect to get a few comments about that.

Not really sure it fits the Macro challenge, if you had focused more on the center of the ashtray and the burning end of the cig?

Not bad, but not as interesting as it could be. Perhaps more billowing, spiraling smoke would help.

Great spotlight helps to highlight the cigarette. The dark background really helps to make the subjects pop out of the picture. The ash tray seems to almost glow. Beautiful capture of the smoke itself. Gorgeous shot.

Doesn't grab me. Lighting is too harsh. Fabric should be smooth.

The shadow on the filter is distracting, it looks almost like the filter is split in two.
