 Taken at Fish Creek Ponds in Upstate New York, near the Saranac Lakes, this doe wasn't afraid of my canoe at all.

It was already pretty much dark, so some amount dodging and burning, tweaked colors a tad, levels, curves, neat image, usm...

Regrettably i had to shoot at a higher than wanted ISO to ensure a sharp image as it was so dark.

Capturing the image was an amazing experience because I must have been within 15 feet of the deer, totally out in the wilderness, about an hour & 1/2 canoe paddle from the nearest road.

This is one of the nicest wild deer photos that I have seen. The deer looks totally relaxed, and in it's element, and the even light of twilight gives the whole scene a beautiful glow. The 20 mm perspective is just perfect also, as most shots like this have the compressed look of a long tele shot.
It was a fortunate moment for you to be able to get so close and have the equipment ready to get this shot.
