Very nice B/W conversion and I like what you are trying to capture, but the way they are holding the baby doesn't look natural/comfortable.

Don't care for how this baby is being held, looks very off. The speckles and highlighs on the babys arm are really distracting as well as the ones on his side.

ok, another baby lying flat out, which is obviously the in vogue thing right now. not being a baby fan, i'm not going to be particularly moved here. however, technically i can see this is a really decent shot; lighting is top notch, the level of grain is pleasing yet unobstrusive. the arms on the right don't seem very relaxed and appears stiff, and i think it would be more fun if the sprog was glaring at the camera - i'd imagine the little bugger would have a decent glare on him. 7, which is high for me and baby pictures.

Beautiful baby. Somehow the two pairs of hands holding him (or her) at each end disturbs me. I wish one of the hands had been visible under the baby's middle. Good b/w conversion.

This is a lovely execution of a classic newborn shot. You captured a great expression on the little one. I love the tones of your b/w conversion. I think this would have been better lit with the main light camera right. Then, the light would not be coming from 'below' the baby's face, it would sweep across his face from the top down. Your shadows would fall beneath the chin and below the nose where they should be, instead of above the nose and lip as they are here.

Lighting is good. Baby is cute. Pose looks uncomfortable.

Composition: 5 - A standard non-adventurous composition, but still it works well for this shot.
Technical: 6 - It seems over-smooth in places, and the B&W makes it seem a bit cold. I'd have used a very subtle sepia tint just to add some warmth.
Creativity: 5 - Its quite a usual shot for newborn babies, the 2 pairs of hands adds something though.
Appeal: 4 - I'm sure the parents absolutely adore the photo, but for me it doesn't do a lot, sorry.

Overall Calculated Average Score: 5

wow. great job. the detail on his or her(the baby's) arm is so raw and real and same for the fathers hand. sweet soft neatimaged babies are cute but this sharp, real and raw depiction is fantastic. love its natural qualities. 9

wow... this baby has such distinct, beautiful features!! i think that the position of the mothers arms are somewhat awkward. but nonetheless.. this is a wonderful shot. beautiful black and white and great lighting. 8
