My cat still does this (although my ear lobe is his preferred 'nipple' of choice), and he is 8 years old! He was taken from his mother at three weeks old (had a manky eye and the farmer was going to drown him...); some cats that are taken away too young suck on woollen clothing, which is rather more socially acceptable, I guess.

I agree with Joey - best title ever hahahaha! Glad to see you rescued her, but sorry to hear about the other little kitten. It's impossible to understand how people can abandon babies like that. Hope she can survive, as she's so very young, but looks like there's a pretty good shot with all the lovin' she's getting!

Aww. Just think had you not walked up to photograph that hawk she would have perished for sure. I guess you used kitten formula? I bet it was alot of work taking care of a newborn kitten!

There was no Momma Cat.
Annabelle was an abandoned 2-day old left on the hill across from my shop. I had gone to photograph a large, Red-Tailed Hawk on the fence above the hill, and after it flew off from getting too close, I heard newborn kitten peeps, and took her home. There was a second newborn that didn't survive.
:(
My wife raised Annabelle and now the two are inseparable.
