Ok, this is a first for me, the first time I planned a picture out in my head, the first time I have posed for a picture here, the first time I used my cat as a prop!
I hope it does ok.
Funny story behind this picture. This little bugger hates sitting still for anything, and hes definately not what I would describe as a "lap" cat. About 2 seconds before this shot he was fighting me tooth and nail (literally, hes not declawed) against having him sit between my legs, 2 seconds after this shot he had finally had enough and was off under the bed. What I hope looks like contentment and relaxation was actually more annoyance and anger.
All I did was noise reduce, auto color, shadows and highlights, and crop, its pretty much exactly the way I imagined it. I decided to go for a simple composition, with the hand centered and as much of the background gone as possible to enhance the "simple" portion of the challenge. I tend to like pictures that are layered like one of those multi-colored jello desserts, and I like the layers here of the light blue jeans, grey cat, and the light pink hand (hopefully coming across as a contrast to the jeans). I would prefer the background to be darker and more out of focus, but this is basic editing ;) |
