Yes this is a Steel Tree. Complete with Steel fungus.
Its a piece of sculpture Art standing in the Park. It was surrounded by other trees so getting a shot of JUST it caused me to get underneath it in a brewing storm... I supose it wasn't a wise thing to do but I like the effect.

Critique Club Review:

Interesting photo, and interesting range of comments from the viewers.

For me it meets the challenge well. Nothing said the trees had to be live or real. I like the sky, a little more drama would be nice up there. However, that is usually something beyond the control of most photographers.

As is the sky and tree colors match well, and it is very effective as a monochrome piece.

Focus and depth of field are excellent. Brightness, contrast, and saturation are good as well.

Nice job.

I love it. The point of view is perfect. Cropping is nice. The saturation is good. I wish the sky were a little more dramatic. But the silver on gray is an interesting combination. Maybe a night shot lit from below would be worthwhile. Very cool image.

Neat sculpture, but only marginally meets the challenge.

Another environmentally conscious artist at work, I see. Nice range of steely hues there.

It's an interesting angle and subject matter. It just didn't grab me.

Very cool. Original and different. Hope your not getting killed from DNMC police. I think the sky works here. The only critique is that you're too close. i don't like the POV.

Hey! That's not a tree! ;^) Kinda cool looking. I'll have to come back after the challenge and see where this is located. Good luck!

Pretty cool looking. You've captured the texture nicely, and you picked the right sky conditions to really set it off. Excellent work.
