Date Uploaded: Sep 5, 2006

Took this picture with my new Nikon D50 while hiking up the Grand Canyon last week. My first submission so I am looking forward to the feedback. Where I come from, in Europe, we think seeing ladybugs and/or having them land on you brings luck, hence the title.

The leaf is perfect...I think it should be the lady-bug...that's where my eye goes to and I think it's a little high in the frame.

I feel that the background is too distracting and that a tighter crop around the lady bug would have made this photo a bit stronger.

The ladybug is really too little

ugly bokeh, distracting background, sharpness not directly on ladybug

I think that the main subject (the bug) is to far and small in this photo =|

I guess, would be better with less depth of field, more saturated colour (i.e., reddish lady bug) and if the frame was a little bit up. Nice idea though.

"...your points of interest should be placed on the intersections of those lines": the ladybird is not there, try to crop it better!
