Outside with on camera fill flash. Tried to follow the tutorial on conversion (i.e. used camera capture/creative/and output sharpening, converted to srgb). May be a little too much saturated not sure. First time trying to adjust just one channel on curve. Adjusted the blue channel to make the dying flower more pale (moved highlight curve up) and took shadow curve down resulting in more saturated yellows.

Thanks for all the feedback. The comments were helpful. I almost did not attempt this challenge due to photo selection but thought I would try this one. DOF was a big issue I was using closeup filters which don't excuse it since all I had to do was stop down and change my angle. But really brought it to my attention, now I am watching very closely when trying closeups.

This could use just a touch more DOF. The top flower is not quite all there. But GREAT idea and Fantastic composition!!!!

It is quite too blur

I think the focal point should be on the front part of the flower with a longer dof to include the stamen. I like the water drops on the flower but it shouldn't be the main subject. However, I do love the blur on the background. There is a thread on the top petal that is drawing my attention.
I probably wouldn't have noticed that till after I got home either.

Pretty good shot. Would have been better if the flowers had a little more pop. If they could stand out a little more.

good photo, but the second flower is disturbing: have you tried to crop it out and taking just the main one and its beautiful water drop? I think it would have been nicer.
