I am not happy with the 'bad' bits on the petals but was hoping to get some feedback on the composition? What do you guys think about the negative space?

A beautiful image, you have brought out the textures particularly well. The lighting is quite superb. I like the simplicity of your flower images, they are a refreshing change. It is the “negative space” that make this image for me, without it it would be just another, all be it very good, flower picture.

I really like the choice of background color in this image. It really brings the image to a much higher level. and the use of empty space is awesome.

Not that I know much about what I'm talking about... I'm fairly new here, but I love the detail on the rose itself, as well as the lighting and colour. I think it's an awesome shot.

I'm a big fan of black negative space in flower shots :) I like the placement of the flower in the frame, would maybe crop a little off the bottom left to get rid of that black part and maybe a touch off the right to get rid of the ripply part of the petal or maybe just clone it out. Just my opinion. Love the color!
