Nobody understands me. The main reason the World Trade Center were attacked was that Osama and Co. were not happy with how Western countries, like USA, are doing well and making money. They weren't happy with The Corporate World. Maby you all understand me better.

this is a really great shot, but i have to painfully admit that i scored it middle of the road. i was swayed by two things that i've preached against on this site, and that makes me a hypocrite. i was swayed by the title and the relevance to the challenge, which didn't hit me over the head like an idiot the way i guess i was expecting it to. it's a damn shame, really, because this is an amazing photograph. but i'm tired of the mushy sept. 11th crap, and that swayed me the most. technically, this is so well done.

anyway, sorry for ranting. i love you work, arni and i always come back to see what you've done and was ashamed to find my score on this so low.

I'm coming to the conclusion that when a picture crosses the line from 'photograph' into 'art' it starts to lose points. This is art. I love it.

I dont understand how this didn't do so much better. It was definatly my top rated picture of the week.

Very creative and inventive image. Love the strong red.

Not alot going on at the top but the roses are great if a little dark.

Those are beautiful flowers, and I like the idea behind it. My only suggestion would be to stagger the flowers, so that one was slightly higher than the other, and it might feel more balanced. good lighting. karmat

First of all, great shot! ~ 9 ~ The flag on the right is a bit hard to identify. I thought it might be Palistine, but then decided it's closer to Malawi. Unfortunately, I live in a very localized news area. I haven't heard much about Malawi and had a hard time relating... But it's a WONDERFUL image... Great use of negitive space...

Great color

WOW if you had croped more off the top, what a neat pic

It's a great picture, it's powerful, sad and dramaticâ€Â¦ My only criticism is that the composition is not as central as it could be, too much background detracts from the central theme. A small point, but (to me) a fairly big flaw on an otherwise flawless pictureâ€Â¦ Perhaps a macro close up that allowed the subject to fill the frame would have been betterâ€Â¦

I had to look hard in some online references to figure out that that is an old Afghan flag on the right, but I don't get the corporate reference. If I'm not mistaken, that's the pre-Taliban flag. Seems more like a pure political statement than a corporate one.

This photo does not communicate "corporate world" to me. -ClubJuggle

Really beautiful picture, except: I don't get it. How does this relate to the corporate world?
07/29/2002 02:33:00 PM

07/29/2002 12:14:00 PM
What's that on the flower on the right?
07/29/2002 12:12:00 PM

Nice, but not relevant

original idea.

This is by far the best photo I have seen in this challenge, and I'm giving it a 9. The idea is great and the way the roses have been painted so well is also great. It is a really good photo aswell. I love the way you have left so much space at the top of the photo. Very very nice photo indeed. I would give it a 10, if there wasnt such a bright glare on the right hand rose over the flag.
07/29/2002 04:13:00 AM
A beautiful image, one i'll add to my favorites, even though I don't see a "corporate world" connection at all.

Nice backlighting.....harsh foreground. Is this a tribute to 9-11 or to those corproations now in trouble? 6
