 I got to Okinawa on the first of September but this was really my first time getting to get out and take photos. I had to call my wife in Kentucky to find out what the challenges were and when she told me about this one I had to get out and photograph some of the native trees here. Unfortunitly the trees I would have really liked to photograph (the bonsi type) have stupid buildings and wires and such behind them. Oh well I like the clouds in this one.

Too dark. The tree doesn't stand out enough to be the subject.

I'm glad you got a clean view of the trunk. It's the trunk that makes palms unusual or distinctive.

the darkness of the clouds behind the tree detract from the tree itself.

Moody and interestingly composed. I like how the sun is behind the trunk but doesn't blow out the sky. Wonderful sillhouette!
